The Power of Kastalon Polyurethane

Polyurethanes or Urethanes are terms that are used interchangeably for a family of elastomers that were invented as ‘artificial rubbers’ during World War II. Polyurethane formulations are a unique breed of engineering materials that combine the advantages of rigid plastics, metals and ceramics with the flexibility and elasticity of rubber. Characterized by their impressive properties, they replace metals, plastics and other rubbers in many applications to give superior performance, significantly higher load-bearing capacities, resilience, noise abatement, better abrasion resistance, longer wear life and increase cost effectiveness. Microcellular polyurethanes are exceptional for controlling shock, noise and vibration.

Kastalon is expert in developing outstanding polyurethane polymers to address difficult engineering problems. Kastalon Polyurethanes® are highly versatile reactive chemicals that can be compounded to produce polymers with amazing physical properties. Precise formulations and demanding process controls are required to reliably and consistently produce these materials.

Across the lines of every industry, Kastalon Polyurethane offers solutions that no other material can offer. Our Design Engineers welcome the opportunity to offer assistance in the design and development of materials and products. Refer to the Kastalon Engineering Guide for specific properties and formulations.
