SECTION III - PHYSICAL / CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Odor: Slightly rubber-like
Specific Gravity (H2O = 1): 0.95 to 0.98
Hardness: 50 Shore "D"

SECTION IV - FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DATA
Flash Point (piloted): > 650°F
Self-Ignition Point (non-piloted): > 700°F
Extinguishing Media: Water spray or any Class A extinguishing agent.
Special Firefighting Procedures:
Firefighters and others exposed to products of combustion should wear selfcontained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full protective clothing. Carbon monoxide is liberated as a toxic decomposition product when High-Temp Koat-ARoll is ignited.
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: None known.

SECTION V - REACTIVITY DATA
Stability: Thermally stable to 500°F
Hazardous Polymerization Does not occur
Conditions to Avoid: Combustion or decomposition
Hazardous Decomposition or Byproducts:
Decomposition through burning produces smoke, carbon monoxide and possibly hydrocarbons.
Incompatibility (Materials to Avoid):
High-Temp Koat-A-Roll may react with strong oxidizing chemicals. High-Temp Koat-A-Roll also reacts with acetal resins at temperatures of 425°F and above, producing decomposition of the acetal resin, and formaldehyde as a decomposition product. Decomposition of halogenated polymers and phenolic resins may also be accelerated when they are in contact with High-Temp Koat-A-Roll at temperatures of 350°F and higher.

SECTION VI - HEALTH HAZARD DATA
Permissible Exposure Level: Not applicable
Effects of Overexposure:
For skin: Thermal burns will occur if molten compound comes in contact with
unprotected skin.
For inhalation: When molten, inhalation of fumes or vapors may cause respiratory tract irritation. With repeated and prolonged exposure at high concentrations, inhalation could cause nausea, drowsiness and headache.
Emergency and First Aid Procedures:
For skin: Treat burns the same as any other thermal burn.
For inhalation: If fumes are inhaled, remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult,
get medical attention.
