Molding Machine Operator – Full-Time

SUMMARY:
The Molding Machine Operator is a full-time, entry-level employment position to set up and run polyurethane dispensing machines. The ideal candidate should be mechanically inclined, quality-oriented, and self-starting. The Molding Machine Operator will be responsible for preparing material, operating the machine, maintaining the equipment, and maintaining an organized area, as well as lead a small team. We will train the right individual.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate polyurethane dispensing machines
  • Pour urethane
  • Set molds
  • Perform daily maintenance on polyurethane dispensing machines
  • Maintain organized and safe workspace

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Currently enrolled in an Advanced Certificate or A.A. degree program in Manufacturing Technology (or similar program) at a local community college with at least 9-12 credit hours already completed towards the certificate or degree, maintaining a C Average or better
  • Preferred: NCRC Exam Level Silver and four MSSC Certificates (Safety; Manufacturing Processes & Production; Quality Practices & Measurement; Maintenance Awareness); NIMS Level 1 Machining Certification

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Molding Machine Operator will lead a small team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A qualified candidate would have a basic understanding of the machines and of the working properties of the various materials used in the manufacturing of Kastalon products.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to follow oral instructions and read & interpret written documents such as Safety Data Sheets(SDSs), safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, part prints, process documentation, and work center guidelines.

TOOL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiar with and capable of using a variety of inspection devices
  • Ability to read calipers, pi tape, and tape measure

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Work 40-55 hours per week
  • Work in a hot environment
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Wear safety glasses
  • Wear steel toe boots (ASTM Standard)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment described here is representative of what an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of his job. When performing the duties of this job (while always adhering to Kastalon safety standards), an employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and the average noise level in the shop is moderate.

Training - 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
Core Hours - 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
Overtime (when available) - 5:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday

Machinist – Full-Time (1st Shift)

Summary:
The Machinist Intern is a full-time employment position. The ideal candidate should be able to set up and operate conventional and numerical control machines to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts as well as fit and assemble machine parts in the completed unit while applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Studies blueprints, sketches, or drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.*
  • Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machine.*
  • Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachment accessories and material on the machine such as grinders and lathes.*
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, as well as the depth and angle of the cut.*
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.*
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to the specifications by using precision measuring instruments.*
  • Operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts
  • Complies with company policies and procedures with special attention to safety regulations.

Machines and Operations:
An individual should be knowledgeable and proficient in the operation of at least two manual or conventional machines as well as two different types of CNC machines found within the department. Individual should also be proficient on basic set ups and efficient at completing non-standard products. These tools* should be property of the individual within six months of full-time employment:

  • Calculator
  • Hex wrench set
  • Other hand tools as required by the specific machines or jobs being run by employee

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather related); fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the machine shop is usually loud.

Receiving Coordinator & Handler – Full-Time (1st Shift)

SUMMARY:
The Receiving Coordinator & Handler works closely with the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to ensure efficient operations of the Receiving Department. The ideal candidate would be responsible for receiving all orders that come into the dock and maintaining accurate records. We will train the right individual.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives all orders that come into the dock.
  • Accurately inputs a high volume of information into the computer concerning incoming and outgoing merchandise in a timely manner.
  • Checks and records the quality and quantity of the merchandise for conformity to purchase orders and specifications.
  • Records and reports shortages and discrepancies.
  • Reports issues to Shipping & Receiving Supervisor as soon as they become a concern.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Familiar with and capable of using a variety of inspection devices
  • Ability to read calipers, pi tape, and tape measure
  • Experience operating forklifts
  • Experience using overhead crane (we will train)
